The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Cologne recently founded Germany's first Institute of Public Health under the direction of Prof. Dr. Nicole Skoetz. The focus of the new institution is research and teaching in the field of health and health maintenance of the population. The institute co-operates closely with the City of Cologne's local health department.
